What is a body tube
A king skinny tube that holds the eyepiece up above the microscope. It allows the light of the image to travel up from the objective lenses to the eyepiece.( but the first sentence is the main idea of the body tube).
What is the piece you put by your eye
Eyepiece
What holds two or three objectives lenses and rotates in a circle allowing you which one to chose
Nosepiece
What are the objective lense settings and how can you tell which of them are more powerful then others.
High,medium,and low people who make them put different colored rubber bands on the microscope to identify the different powers
What does the arm do
Holds the upper microscope above the stage. You grab this part when walking.
What does the coarse adjustment knob do
It allows you to move the upper portion of the microscope up and down so that you can focus on the slide.
What is a fine adjustment knob
It’s there to tune images
What is a slide
A thin piece of glass that you place directly over the opening in the stage and is held in place with stage clips
What is the stage
Where the goodies are placed
What holds the microscope slide in place

What is the aperture
This allows light to come from behind whatever it is you are looking at so its easier to see
What is the diaphragm
A disk that has several different holes that allow you to change the amount of light that comes through the aperture.
What shines light up through the aperture and reflects light light into the same space
