A

Q

EPSEM

A

the Equal Probability of SElection Method for selecting samples. every element/case in pop must have equal probability of selection for sample. most common technique is srs.

Q

sampling distribution

A

distribution of a statistic for all possible sample outcomes of a certain size. under conditions specified in two theorems, the sampling distribution is normal in shape, with mean equal to the population value and standard deviation equal to the population standard deviation divided by the square root of n.

Q

central limit theorem

A

theorem that specifies the mean, standard deviation, and shape of the sampling distribution, given that the sample is large. removes constraint of normality in the population.
