O2 is inhaled into alveoli and diffuses into capillaries=blood is oxygenated. CO2 from blood diffuses into the alveoli.

Cells have capillaries between eachother.
When blood arrives at cells the blodd has high O2 and the cells have low O2 due to respiration - blood diffuses into cells.
Cells have high CO2 and blood gas low CO2 so CO2 diffuses into cappillaries and is taken back to lungs.
