Chapter 5 - Digestive System 02 Flashcards
What ingredients are required by the first shift of photosynthesis?
Sunlight, water and adenosine diphosphate.
What is produced during the second shift of photosynthesis?
Oxygen, hydrogen ions and adenosine triphosphate.
What ingredients are required for the second shift of photosynthesis?
Carbon dioxide, hydrogen ions and adenosine triphosphate.
What is produced during the second shift of photosynthesis?
Glucose and adenosine diphosphate.
In what ways do the shifts of photosynthesis rely on each other?
Hydrogen ions and adensoine triphosphate produced during the first shift are used in the second shift. Adenosine diphosphate produced in the second shift is used by the first.
Why are leaves flat?
It provides a large surface area exposed to sunlight.
Why are there many stroma (pores) on leaf surfaces?
To provide access into the leaf for carbon dioxide.
What are the four different kinds of teeth found in mammals?
Incisors, canines, premolars and molars.
How are incisors used?
Used to get foot into the mouth. They have sharp edges and cut chunks of food from larger pieces.
How are canines used?
Piercing and tearing food.
How are premolars and molars used?
Their ridged surfaces grind food so that it is easier to swallow.
