the process by which indicduals or groups adopt the culture of another group. Losing their original identity. A principal indicator is language.

The Immigration Act amendments of 1965 abandoned
the quota system that had preserved the European
character of the U.S. for nearly half a century.
Effects of Medicare and Medicaid coverage on middle class and lower middle classes
Medicaid provides for the poor. the middle class and the near poor if 65 or older have medicare but it does not cover long term health care.
Agency
human agency. the elderly have a devalued status in the U.S society.
as the elderly in numbers their spheres of political influences will increase as well because they account for 20% of the voting public.
