Plenum
A sloping floor or walk connecting two levels
Ramp
The vertical boards that close off the space between treads and add rigidity to the assembly
Riders
The sloping finish members that run along the sides of the staircase, providing end points for treads and risers
Stringers
A vertical framing member in a building’s wall of smaller cross section than a post
Stud
Structural material used to span floor joists
