Embellishment
In the context of defamation, the freedom to discuss certain aspects of the publics business without fear of liability, as long as certain conditions were met, such as not making a mistake in reporting the contents of public records
Conditional Privilege
Damaging statements about products or services that harm their positions in the marketplace
Trade Libel
Defamation that results not from direct statements, but from the readers or listeners logically interfered interpretation.
Libel by Implication
A false, defamatory statement that is not on its face harmful to reputation but is Ade so by the addition of independent information known by the reader or listeners

A false defamatory statement that is on its face harmful to reputation
Libel Per Se
A cause of action initiated by one party against another in a court of law
Lawsuit
Orally decimated statements, usually false, about other persons or organizations that harm their reputation.
Slander
Money awarded to a plaintiff in a legal action that is designed not to compensate the plaintiff but to punish the defendant
Punitive Damages
A defense in which defendants admit to the truth of a plaintiffs complaint but claim they shouldn’t be liable for harm
