New world
The European name for the lands in the Western Hemisphere, including north and South America. The Americans were a “new” world for European, but not for the Native peoples who already lived there.
Age of Exploration
Time in history when people from Europe traveled faraway and unfamiliar places, such as Africa and Americans, in order to learn about them and make maps of them. The age of Exploration began in the late 1400s and continued through the 1500s.
Explorer
People who travel to a new unfamiliar places in order to learn what theses places are like and describe them with words, pictures and maps.
Archeologists
A person who wanted to see slavery ended everywhere.
Ore
Rock or earth from which metal can be taken.
