Chapter 4 Vocab Flashcards
The 2 angles adjacent to the base of an isosceles triangle.
Base Angles
The angle opposite the base of an isosceles triangle
Vertex Angle
If 2 sides of a triangle are congruent, then the angles opposite those sides are also are congruent.
Base Angle Theorem
If 2 angles of a triangles are congruent then the sides opposite them are also congruent.
Converse of the Base Angles Theorem
If a triangle is equilateral, then it is also equiangular.
Corollary to Theorem 4.6
If a triangle is equiangular, then it is also equilateral.
Corollary to Theorem 4.7
Two geometric figures with exactly the same size and shape.
Congruent Figures
When two figures are congruent the angles that are in corresponding positions are congruent.
Corresponding Angles
When two figures are congruent the sides that are in corresponding positions are congruent.
Corresponding Sides
If 2 angles of one triangle are congruent to 2 angles of another triangle, then the third angles are also congruent.
Third Angles Theorem
Every triangle is congruent to itself.
Reflexive Property of Congruent Triangles
If ^ABC=^DEF=^ABC
Symmetric Property of Congruent Triangles
^ABC=^DEF=^JKL then ^ABC=^JKL
Transitive Property of Congruent Triangles
