During a Skin Pick Test, a health care provider introduces allergens into the skin to?

What does Skin Patch Test determines?
Cause of contact dermatitis.
What is the first step of Skin Patch test?
Provider applies a patch onto the skin (usually the back, arms, or abdominal area) that has a diluted allergen on it.
What is the second step of Skin Patch test?
Patch is left on for 48h and removed.
What is the third step of Skin Patch test?
Check the skin up to 48h later for redness or swelling (which indicates a positive reaction).
What is an Antihistamine?
Medication that stops the body’s immune response to allergens.
