Chapter 4 Religion Flashcards
Our conscience is like an inner voice
that helps us to choose good over evil.
Our conscience guides us to make decision based on the
Teachings and actions of Jesus.
The more we examine our conscience the easier it is
To hear and follow our conscience.
While we are making decisions our conscience brings about
Feelings of peace or discomfort depending on the choices we make.
Forming a good conscience is
A responsibility that continues throughout our life.
We become more like Jesus
when we think, speak, and act as he did.
Before we make decisions, our conscience
helps us consider the results of our choices.
A good conscience is formed by
listening to God the Holy Spirit.
We can examine our conscience
any time.
We can make choices that brings us closer to God
If we reflect on choices we made in the past.
We can form our conscience by learning more about God
through Scripture and Church teachings.
An examination of conscience is helpful before we make decisions,
While we make decisions, and after we make decision.
Name three ways our conscience is formed
A good conscience is formed by listening to God the Holy: parents, guardians , priests, teachers, and catechists to help; following an example of life of one of the saints, deeping your love for God: learning more about God through Scripture; learning more about God through Church teachings.
Write about a time when you examined your own conscience before making a decision. How did it affect the decision you made? Be careful not to intrude on the personal matter of an examination of conscience
