Chapter 4 - Overview of adaptive modes Flashcards
What are the four adaptive modes?
- Physiological Mode (9 components)
- Self Concept Mode (physical and personal self)
- Role Function Mode
- Interdependence Mode
How does RAM define integrity?
The degree of wholeness achieved by adapting to changes in needs. p.89
How many components are there in the physiological mode?
9 components
What is the overall need in the physiologic mode?
Physiologic Integrity
The 9 components of the physiologic mode are divided into two groups. What are those two groups?
5 basic needs
4 Complex processes
What are the five basic needs?
- Oxygen
- Nutrition
- Activity and Rest
- Elimination
- Protection (includes immunity)
p.90
What are the 4 complex processes?
- Senses
- Fluid and Electrolytes & Acid/Base
- Neurologic function
- Endocrine function
