Longhouses are what the Iroquois lived in. Each clan was separated into one.

Consensus is a form of decision making. It’s when everyone agrees on one thing.

Who is the Seventh Generation? How did they affect decisions that were made?
The seventh generation is the generation that the chiefs had to consider. The chiefs knew that their decisions would affect them, therefore encouraging them to think wisely.

How does the Hiawatha Wampum show the relationship among the nations of the Confederacy?
Each nation has a white square. The Onondaga nation is the Tree of Peace, and the lines connecting them all show their bond.
What does it mean when we say that the Iroquois Confederacy was a matrilineal society?
It means that women were highly respected.
What did the Iroquois live in?
