Chapter 4. Gases And Atmospheric Chemistry Flashcards
0
Q
Charles gas law
A
It is based on temperature and volume. A new scale was derived and 0°C was equivalent to 273K. The volume of a fixed mass of gas is proportional to it’s kelvin temperature when the pressure is kept constant.
1
Q
Boyle’s law
A
The volume and the pressure is proportional to eachother.
If the volume is halved then the pressure is doubles and vice versa.
2
Q
Gay-lussac’s gas law
A
States that the pressure of a fixed amount of gas, at a constant volume, is directly proportional to it’s kelvin temperature.
3
Q
Combined gas law
A
All three laws combined, to get pressure, volume or temperature.
