What is culture?
Behaviours and values that are shared and learned in a group of people
Knowledge, beliefs, art, morals, laws, customs, and any other capabilities and habits.
Explain the interconnection between culture and consumption?
It affects how we spend money and how we consume in general:
ex: Spain and Japan eats and buys more seafood because of their cultural connection to the ocean
Italy and France drink the most wine, they have abundance of grapes and relaxed alcohol regulations
Dutch people buy more flowers, deep historical and cultural value of flowers
Germany and UK eat for chocolate, better storage conditions in the colder climates
Consumer culture and implications for health
Consequence of culture can be found in reproductive health, birth rates and health care around the world
ex: countries that consume more sugar will have better treatment for diabetic diseases
Japan has a high consumption of salt, therefore more stomach cancer and specialized treatment for it
