What is the reformation?

How did James I present an anti-catholic image?

What are recusancy fines?
fines imposed on recusant :those who did not attend compulsory Church of England on Sunday.
Who were Jesuit Priests?
religious order that fought to convert Protestant countries to catholicism under the pope.
Who were puritans?
Hotter sort of protestant.
What is predestination?
The belief that a persons behaviour was already designed by God and was not determined on how they acted.
What happened at Hampton Court Conference in 1604?
James called a religious conference at Hampton Court , the King was willing to listen to Puritan demands but there was a clash when the abolition/modification of episcopacy was suggested.
What is Episcopacy?
The government of the church by bishops, e.g Church of England.
