Why is faith necessary for salvation?
need faith to believe what God is telling us in order to trust
Faith is a grace, a spiritual gift of God
- God initiates our relationship
- Holy Spirit helps us recognize God’s invitation
Faith is certain
-God and teachings of our faith are most trustworthy
Faith seeks understanding
-passion for deeper understanding of God to become more committed followers of Christ
Faith is not opposed to science
- physical and spiritual reality never conflict
- God in both

-without faith, cut from God and not saved
Grace enables faith
- God gave us grace to believe
- Holy Spirit makes grace available to everyone
Faith is the beginning of eternal life
- deepen relationship with God
- experience joy and love with being part of community of believers
How are faith and human freedom related?
- both can be developed
- freely giving our heart, mind, and will to our target
- freedom to choose to believe in God (faith)
Why does true faith in God require a belief in Jesus Christ?
- God sent Jesus Christ, as his final Revelation, who is the ultimate sign of God’s love for us
- reject God’s efforts to be in a loving relationship with us if not believing in Jesus
Why is faith passed on from generation to generation?
through our parent’s, teacher’s, and clergy’s perspective on how faith has made a difference in their lives and through this, they support and nourish our faith
word and ex.
Why is being an active member of the Church a necessary aspect of having faith in God?
- having true faith doesn’t mean choosing the things we want to believe
- commanded to love and celebrate with 1 another
How do we practice ecumenism?
praying, serving the community, and honestly searching for God’s truth together
Why is the Apostle’s Creed used by the Church today?
reflects early Christian’s growing understanding of the Trinity and importance of Church in God’s plan
Why is the Nicene Creed used by the Church today?
affirm beliefs that were clarified as a result of the conflicts in the Church about Jesus’ identity and role of Holy Spirit
