When sperm meets the ovum, in the Fallopian tube, and penetrates egg

(First 2 weeks) cells divide, day 4 reaches opening of uterus, implantation: attaches to uterus (pinhead size)
Zygote
(Week 3-8) heart lungs bones muscles develop, 27 day neural tubes close, week 6 connections between brain and spinal cord make first movements
Embryo
(8-9 week until birth) teeth, digestive system, capable of living outside at 7 months, yawn burp, gain weight
Fetus
Inability to become pregnant
Infertility
When a mass of cells split into 2. 1 egg & 1 sperm
Identical twins
2 or more eggs and 2 or more sperm separate from the start
Fraternal twins
Not biologically couples, their responsibility
Adoption
Sperm is injected into woman (from donor or bio father)
Artificial insemination
Fertilized egg from a donor is placed in women’s uterus
Ovum transfer
Ovum from women is combined and fertilized with husbands sperm(zygote placed in uterus)
In vitro fertilization
When mom carries child who cannot become pregnant
Surrogate mother
