Equivocal words
Informal nonstandard vocabulary used by members of a co-culture or group who have similar interests, goals, or life experiences.
Slang
Technical language used by professional groups.
Jargon
The first letters or initials of terms that form a word.
Acronyms
Polite terms or more socially acceptable ways to describe something that someone may find unpleasant.
Euphemism
Language used to purposefully disguise the actual meaning of something.
Doublespeak
