Which amendments are in the Bill of Rights?
Amendments 1-10.
What is the first amendment?
RAPPS. (Freedom of religion, assembly, petition, press, speech.)
What is the second amendment?
The right to bear arms.
What is the third amendment?
Reversal of the Quartering Act.
What is the fourth amendment?
Protection from searches and seizures without a search warrant.
What is the fifth amendment?
Protection from Double Jeopardy. Can’t go to court twice for the same crime.
What is the sixth amendment?
Public trial, trial by jury, right to counsel (Right to have a lawyer.)
What is the seventh amendment?
Civil trial by jury.
What is the eight amendment?
Prohibits cruel and unusual punishment as well as excessive bail.
What is the ninth amendment?
The rights given to us in the Bill of Rights are not the only ones we have as citizens.
What is the tenth amendment?
Powers not given to the government are given to the state and the people.
What is the thirteenth amendment?
Abolishes slavery.
What is the fourteenth amendment?
Equal protection under law.
What is the fifteenth amendment?
Cannot be denied the right to vote on the basis of skin.
What is the eighteenth amendment?
Prohibition on manufacturing/selling liquor.
