Temporal: auditory signals, language
Parietal: touch, taste, heat, cold, pain, pressure
Frontal: muscular activity, motor control, speech, thought
Spinal cord
ubular bundle of nerves arising from brain Enclosed & protected by vertebrae Branches into spinal nerves Site of reflex actions Involuntary responses to a stimulus Important in sports
Autonomic nervous system
Controls physiological functions that are unconscious
EX. Heart rate. blood pressure digestion and breathing
Sympathetic nervous system
Fight or flight
