a want is something you would like to have but it is not essential

Physiological needs
a persons most basic needs, food, water, shelter and clothing
Safety needs
physical security, moral and psychological security, family security and security from violence, delinquency and agression
social needs
in relation to interaction with other people, need for friends
Esteem needs
needs for being respected,
Self-actualization
a driving life force that will ultimately lead to maximizing one’s abilities
What is the consumer Resource Exchange Model
Made by Bristrow and Mowen based on the concept that consumers manage resources to meet their needs.
What were the four assumptions of CREM
- Consumers seek to manage resources that enable them to function more effectively in the world.
- Individual differences will exist in the level of importance consumers attach to each of the four resources types.
- Resources exist as a part of an interrelated/ interdependant system.
- Time is a finite temporal space in which activities are performed
