  • They are formed from particles of pre-existing rocks or previously dissolved material or biological activity
  • 75% of land and almost all of the ocean floor is covered in sediment or sedimentary rocks,
  • Sedimentary is the only place you can find fossils or fossil fuels

What process makes Sedimentary rocks?

A

Chemical and mechanical weathering; break up of rock

Lithification is the process then to cement or compaction the particles together

A

Soluble material carried by running water

-Temperature or chemical change —> Deposit —> Lithification
