What is serial port
Serial port is a way of communication among two devices just like the parallel port.
What is the difference between serial and parallel port
The basic difference is that whole bytes are sent from one place to another in case of parallel port while the bits are sent one by one on the serial port in a specially formatted fashion.
What is DB-9
It is 9 pin DB connector for serial port
What is the format of data while transferring on serial port
RS232 communication
What is start bit
The data starts with a 1 bit called the start bit
What is stop bit
The data stops at 0 bit called stop bits
What is baud rate of the communication
The duration of a bit transfer at both ends
Does modem status is used in direct serial communication
No
What is priority of modem status interrupt
