They were all house church leaders.

Ch. 39 What three genres make up the book of Revelation?
Apocalyptic, prophetic, and epistolary
Ch. 39 Please describe each of the four major schools of interpretation of Revelation.
a. Preterist: attempts to root the fulfillment of Revelation’s prophecies in the first century AD
b. Historicist: no longer used because it restricted itself to Protestant Reformation & the papacy
c. Futurist: interprets Rev. 4-22 as still unfulfilled, awaiting the events surrounding the 2nd coming of Christ
d. Idealist: see Revelation as an apocalyptic dramatization of the continuous battle between God and evil
Ch. 39 What are the two types of futurist interpretations of Revelation?
a. Dispensationalism
Divide salvation history into historical eras or epochs.
b. Historic Premillennialism
Symbols outline church history and continue movement across the time. Only chapter 20-22 are unfulfilled.
Ch. 39 What are the three tenets of dispensationalism?
a. The Church has not replaced Israel in the plan of God
b. Christ will come again and establish a temporary, 1,000 year reign on earth from Jerusalem
c. Pretribulation rapture (The prophecies have not yet occurred in history)
Ch. 39 What distinguishes historic premillennialism from dispensationalism?
a. The church will not be exempt from the Great Tribulation
