Zip-zag Stitch: Finishing seams, sewing stretchy fabric and appliqué
Blind Stitch: Hems and decorative stitch
Buttonhole Stitch: Making buttonholes
Embroidery Stitch: Decorative work

How do you use a sewing machine?

A
  1. Thread the machine
  2. Adjust stitch length and tension to suit the fabric
  3. Test stitch on a scrap of paper or fabric
  4. Press lightly on the presser foot to to start sewing
  5. If need to stop in middle of line or to turn a corner leave the needle in
  6. At the end of a line go over the last few stitches to secure it.
  7. Raise the needle and lift the presser foot to remove the fabric.
