what is a ureter?
there are two inside yourbody, one attached to each kidney and carries urinary waste to the bladder.
what is the bladder?
is is a muscular organ that holds urine
what is the urethra?
it is the tube that travels from the bladder to the urethra meatis. This tube is what the urine passes through to be released from the body.
what is micturition?
a term used to describe the process of bladder emptying.
what is voiding?
a term used to describe the process of bladder emptying.

stoma:
urinary diverson, surgical procedure that diverts urine outside of body through an opening in the abdominal wall is called a stoma
urinary diversions
are constructed from a section of inteste to create a storage reservoir to conduit for urine; they can either be temporary or permenent
ureterostomy
permenant incontinent urinary diversion created by transplanting the ureters into a closed off portion of the intestinal ileum.

what characterisits of urine should you inspect in your patients?
color
clarity
odor
what type of laboratory test
urinalysis,

what is the normal pH of a patients urine?
4.6-8
protein in urine
indicates their is some type of damage to kidney funtion, glomerular membrane

not normally present, indicates patient probably has diabeties

occures with patients who are deyrated, starvation, excessive aspirin ingestion
