chapter 3.4 Flashcards
physical property
property such as mass, density or color that you can measure or see through direct observation
malleable
it can be bent into a shape with out breaking
brittle
it will break easily through force or being it
ductile
anything that can stretch or molding and a lack of brittleness
physical change
a change in the physical properties of a substance that can be reversed without changing its identity
chemical change
atoms that are rearranged to make a new substance
chemical property
this can only be seen when a substance is changing into a new substance through a chemical change.
chemical reaction
a process of rearranging atoms to produce one or more different substances
reactivity
the ability of a substance to undergo a chemical reaction
precipitate
a solid that forms from 2 liquids or a chemical change
intermolecular forces
chemical bonds that hold 2 molecules together.
intramolecular forces
chemical bonds that are inside the molecule
