What are Work Folders?
Work Folders provide the ability to synchronize data between a mobile device and one or more folders hosted on a corporate network file server. Work Folders enables synchronization for devices that are either domain joined or non domain joined, so BYOD users can have access to corporate files without requiring a device that is joined to the domain.
How can you control the behaviour of Work Folders?
Through GP or configure it from Work Folders in Control Panel.
When were Work Folders introduced?
In Windows 8.1 and Server2012R2. In environments where file servers are older versions you’ll need something other than Work Folders to provide offline access for those users.
How do you configure Work Folders in Control Panel?
- Click Set Up Work Folders in control panel.
- Enter a corporate email address or a Work Folder URL.
- Accept or change the local path for Work Folders storage.
- Review and accept the security policies.
How do you configure Work Folders with GP?
Using a domain joined Windows device there are 2 GP settings used to configure Work Folders.
1. SPECIFY WORK FOLDER SETTINGS: This setting is found in User configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Work Folders
When you enable you specify a URL that will be used by Windows to configure Work Folders for that user.
- FORCE AUTOMATIC SETUP FOR UII USERS: This setting is found in Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Work Folders.
What is Sync Center?
SC enables domain joined computers to synchronize local copies of network files for offline use.
What is a Sync partnership?
A sync partnership is a functional component within Sync Center. It defines the network location where the files are located along with specific synchronization details.
Where can you define a sync partnership?
In Sync Center in Control Panel.
What scheduling options do you have within Sync Center?
At a scheduled time.
When an event occurs- ie when a user logs on
What devices does Intune MDM support?
Apple IOS 7 and later

EXAM TIP FOR INTUNE UPDATES
Remember that approval rules will only apply if MS Intune manages the product and classification that are subject to the rule. There’s no sense in configuring an approval rule for Windows 10 updates if MS Intune isn’t configured to manage updtes for Windows 10 devices.
How would you create n automatic approval rule within Intune?
- In the admin workspace of the Intune admin consolee click updates, scroll to Automatic Approval Rules and click New.
- On the general page of the Create Automatic Rule Wizard create a name and provide a description for the rule a click next.
- On the Product Categories page select the products to which the automatic approval rule applies and then click next.
- On the Update Classification page select the classifications for which the rule will perform an automatic approval and click next.
- On the deployment page select the Intune groups for which the automatic approval rule will approve the update. You can configure an installation deadline for the updates approved by this rule, click add and then proceed by clicking next.
- On the summary page click finish to complete the installation of the updates.
