Tissue
A group of cells working together
Organ
A group of tissues working together
Organ system
A group of organs working together
Small intestine
The main part of the digestive system that breaks down the food
Liver
Bile comes from the liver and helps breaks the food down
Gall bladder
The gall bladder holds bile produced in the liver until it is needed for digesting fatty foods
Bile
Contains bile acids and helps turn the food into a liquid and get it into you blood stream
Enzyme
Biological catalyst that speed up the rate of reactions in living things
Enzymes are specific. They can only catalyse (break down) one substrate molecule. This is because they have a specific shape called active site
Active site
The shape for the substrate to fit into
Substrate
A molecule that fits into the active site of an enzyme
