CHAPTER 3 (Anatomy of Camera) Flashcards
A mechanical device that is used to form and record the rays of light (as reflected by the object) on the film inside of the light tight box
Camera
A disc of transparent glass generally bounded by two special surfaces capable of forming image
Lens
The eye of the camera and also the heart of a camera
Lens
This refers to the time the shutter is opened allowing light to reach the film
Shutter
A device that allows the light through the lens and closes at a given time
Shutter
An adjustable mechanism that regulates the amount of light reaching the film by varying length of time
Shutter
This is “control” by which you can determine how long in time the lens will remain open for light to be recorded
Shutter
It is made up of overlapping blades powered by a spring
Blade or between the lens shutter
It consists of two metal blinds that open progressively or made of a black cloth and generally located at very near the focal plane
Focal Plane Shutter
Moves the lens back and forth which allows the photographer to create a sharp image of the subject
Focusing Ring
It regulates the intensity of light which passes through the lens
Diaphragm or Aperture
A small opening in a camera usually a circular shape and usually variables in the form iris
Diaphragm or Aperture
A twisted to advance the film inside to check the number of exposure
Film Advance Lever
It controls the length of time when light is allowed to strike the sentisized material
Shutter Speed Dial
Part of the camera which when pressed will keep the shutter in open position
Shutter Release Button
