What are the three different types of studies in HFE
- Descriptive studies (Undertsand a pattern, trend or characteristic
- Experimental studies
- Evaluation Studies
Reliability
consistency or stability of a measure over time.
Example: a student taking the sat should recieve a similkar score every time they take it.
Validity
Does the instrument measure what it intends to measure.
face validity
asking an expert id a measure is valid.
content validity
A measure must include all aspects that we want to measure. including a selection test that incorporates different things is content validity.
construct validity
if a meausre addresses an underlying construct or theory
Yerkes Dodsons law
peak performance with an increased level of arousal or stress, but too much/too little of it and result in poor performance
sensitivity
sensitivity measures the different levels of independent variables. I.E a study on driving, driving on freeway, , entering free way, exiting freeway.
