Why are the Code of ethics important?
Gray areas exist in law and ethics so we use the reasonable person standard to determine if the action is ethical
How does management impact the code of ethics
By rewarding good \use of the code of ethics
Categorical imperative
commands or moral laws all persons must follow, regardless of their desires
Utilitarianism
determines right from wrong by focusing on outcomes. Do things that make you happy vs dont do things that make you sad.
Outcome based ethics
Focus on the outcome, and pick the action that has the best outcome!
Corporate Social responsibility’s
All stake holders are being counted for. Including Community, Customers, Vendors, Employees, and anyone else affected by their actions
Cost benefit analysis
Best NET Benefit. The Profits - the cost
Duty based ethics
an ethical theory that focuses on the rightness or wrongness of an action based on the action itself, rather than its consequences
Principles of rights
Every person around the worlds deserves their natural law(Right to law, Liberty, and pursuit of happiness)
Behaving ethically
Doing things that we believe are right, and not doing things that we believe are wrong
