What is the symbolism of Jacks appearance?
He’s ditched his uniform and his hair is messy and king. He carries a sharp stick and wears a knife belt. This shows him and all the other boys loosing their sanity and home lives on the island.
What’s the symbolism of Jack carelessly attempting to kill a pig?
He’s no longer held back by the rules of his of life which stopped him from killing the piglet in chapter 1.
What does Ralph think the priority should be?
They should focus on building shelters to be a home for the boys, and keeping the signal fire going.

Hunting the pigs

He helps the littluns pick fruit that’s too high for them. He finds a quiet spot and sits alone.
