Office politics
The interaction of coworkers when they do not always have the same goals, powers, opinions, expectations, abilities, or timetables for performing the work of the office.
Performance reviews
An analysis of the extent to which a person or program has met designated objectives.
Case method
Learning law primarily by studying appellate court opinions in which the opinions are reasoned, synthesized and applied to new facts presented by the professor.
Adverse
Opposed to; harmful, unfavorable.
Clinical education
A training program in which students work on real cases under professional supervision.
Flextime
A system that allows employees some control over aspects of their work schedule, such as the times that they arrive at and leave from work during the day.
Sexual harrasment
Unwanted and offensive sexual advances, contact, comments, or other interaction.
Quid pro quo sexual harassment
Submission to or rejection of unwelcome sexual conduct used as a basis for employment decisions on promotion or other job-related benefits.
Hostile environment sexual harassment
Pervasive and unwelcome sexual conduct or sex-based ridicule that unreasonably interferes with an individual’s job performance or that creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
The federal agency that investigates employment discrimination that might violate federal law.
