Chapter 3 Flashcards
What is the biggest flaw in the two-story view?
The world can’t be divided into things God owns and things he doesn’t.
What is the lie the two-story view tells?
It says there is a broad area of neutrality over which God is not a King.
What are the 2 problems that the fall created for the two-story view.
- It sometimes seems to forget that sin comes with us into the upper story
- The Christian version fails to recognize that non-Christian worldviews are opposed to Christianity in more than just upper-story things.
What is eternity according to the Bible?
It doesn’t take place in Heaven. God will one day redeem souls, bodies, and the whole earth.
What is transformation called in God’s eyes?
It is God’s work of redemption
What is Biblical redemption?
It’s what God does through Christ’s cross-work in buying individuals out of the slavery of sin, forgiving them, delivering them, and transforming them.
Christians who live by the two-story view are subtly confirming what?
The thesis of secularism
How does the biblical worldview of the fall correct the flawed two-story view?
There is no realm untouched by the fall, the fall is comprehensive. This so-called upper story isn’t an escape from the fall; the so-called lower story isn’t free from fallen religious values.
