28-30 gauge, 5/16”-1/2” length. 45-90 degree. Max medication amount is 3/10mL-1mL

What size needle, gauge, angle for a heparin injection? What is max amount of medication to be used?

A

25-30 gauge, 3/8”-1” (most common 3/8” and 5/8”) Angle is 90 degree. However, IF you use a longer needle, a 45 degree angle is preferred. 1mL is max amount of medication.
