- Remove small nodules on the cast with a wet spatula
- Trim the base of the maxillary model parallel to the established plane (pencil line)
- Trim the posterior surface of the maxillary model perpendicular to the marked midline
- Trim the back of the mandibular model until it is even with the back of the maxillary model.
- Trim the base of the lower caste so that it is perpendicular to the backs of both cares and parallel to the base of the maxillary cast.
- Trim the lateral borders.
- Trim the anterior borders.
