  1. Remove small nodules on the cast with a wet spatula
  2. Trim the base of the maxillary model parallel to the established plane (pencil line)
  3. Trim the posterior surface of the maxillary model perpendicular to the marked midline
  4. Trim the back of the mandibular model until it is even with the back of the maxillary model.
  5. Trim the base of the lower caste so that it is perpendicular to the backs of both cares and parallel to the base of the maxillary cast.
  6. Trim the lateral borders.
  7. Trim the anterior borders.
