Primary Injuries
Primary injuries result from the pressure waves of the bomb hitting the body. Examples include eardrum and eyeball rupture.
Secondary Injuries
Secondary injuries result from flying debris and bomb fragments hitting the victim. These types of injuries include penetrating or blunt force trauma, some of which require amputation.
Tertiary Injuries
The client had a traumatic amputation (loss of an arm), which is a tertiary injury. Tertiary injuries result from the victim being thrown by the blast wind. Fractures, amputations, and brain injuries are examples of tertiary injuries.
