Companies rent software and they deliver software over the internet. This provides scalability as the business grows and global access to information. It automates software upgrades, allows companies to focus on core financial competencies rather than information technology issues, and can reduce software costs and administrative overhead
companies that buy AIS software follow SDLC except for:
- during conceptual systems design, companies determine whether software that meets AIS requirements is available, and if so, whether to buy it or create their own.
- Some physical design and implementation and conversion steps can be omitted.
Request for Proposal (RFP)
companies that buy large or complex systems send vendors this asking them to propose a system that meets their needs by a specified date

benchmark Problem

point scoring
