Exfoliating Scrubs
Water based lotions that contain a mild gritty abrasive and moisturizers to help remove dry flaky skin and reduce calluses
Foot files
Also known as pedicure paddles; large abrasive files used to reduce and smooth thicker foot calluses
Pedicure
Cosmetic service performed on the feet by a licensed cosmetologist or nail technician. Can include exfoliating the skin and callus reduction as well as trimming and shaping and polishing toenails. Often includes foot massage
Foot soak
Products added to the pedicure bath water. Can cleanse and deodorize without being harsh.
Urea
Organic compound that has an increased hydrating effect on skin cells
Toe separators
Rubber or cotton disposable used to keep toes apart
Toenail nippers
Similar to fingernail nippers but larger and stronger. Used to trim toe nails.
Potassium hydroxide
Inorganic compound that degraded the protein in callus cells
Salicylic acid
Organic acid made from willow tree bark
