- Imperialism - the building of empires by taking over new territories & was between France, Germany and Britain.
- Nationalism - a strong attachment to one’s nation
- bosnians want their own country away from Austria-Hungary - Militarism - a nation’s policy from enlisting, training, equipping and maintaining armed forces ready for a war.
- Britains “two power standard_ (had to equal or better any 2 other navies) - Alliances - binds states against other states
