Culture is strongly influenced by its senior managers wo set the tone and give the verbal and nonverbal cues to everyone else.

1. Telling the truth and valuing candor and honesty.
2. Pursing the best path, not the easiest.
3. Leveraging the power of partnership with employee’s.
4. Continually focusing on core values.
5. Courage to be accountable.
6. Promotes a culture of civility towards others.

How can you change culture?

Answer 4

1. Be sure a change is needed for a good reason. 2. Be sure you are supported.
2. Change should be done gradually.
3. Communicate the changes, and ensure it goes in stages. Sometimes only a few changes are needed.
4. Get feedback about the change. Adjust if needed.
5. Try to measure if possible.
6. Requires leadership from person wanting change IE: you.

What is the external environment?

Answer 5

Consists of those factors outside your organization that can affect your operations, yet you have little or no control over them.

Tips for navigating or handling external environment?

Answer 6

1. Be integral to your organization.
2. Be aware of things that could impact the facility. IE: taxes, laws, etc.
3. Attempt to incorporate your knowledge of organization and its environment into your daily operations and goals.
4. Go to meetings, other facilities, etc.
5. Network and establish relationships. The more you know, the better off you will be.
