Q

you fly from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure but do not reset your altimeter. if you maintain a consistent indicated altitude, will you be at your desired altitude? why?

A

no, when going from a high pressure area to a lower pressure area think “high to low look out below”. the decrease in pressure makes the altimeter sense a higher altitude than the true altitude.

Q

what will the effect be on the airspeed indicator if the static system becomes clogged, but the pitot systems remain unobstructed? Why?

A

air speed indicator will work but the readings will be incorrect. the Airspeed indicator will have slower indicated air speed when the airplane is operated at higher altitude when the clogged occurred and the opposite will happen when you operate a plane at a lower altitude when the clog happen.

Q

what type of movement is shown by the attitude indicator, but not by the turn coordinator?

A

attitude indicators show the amount of degrees pitch and roll. it will have an artificial horizon and miniature plane to show the position of the plane compared to the horizon. turn coordinator only indicates the direction of bank the plane is rolling into.

Q

what information is provided by the trend vector on the HSI?

A

the trend vector provides what the airplane’s heading will be in six seconds if the turn continues at the same time. the turn rate indicator index marks that are 18 degrees either side of center provide a reference for making standard rate turn.

16
Q

what provides information to the ADC?

A

The pitot tube, static source, and outside air temperature probe provide information to the ADC.

17
Q

explain the trend vector on the altimeter for the AHRS?

A

the trend vector shows the airspeed that the airplane will reach in six seconds if it continues to decelerate or accelerate at the same rate.

18
Q

describe how the integrated flight display system compensates for a PFD screen failure?

A

if the PFD screen fails all the information from the instruments is still there but all the information will automatically be transferred to the MFD and vice versa.

19
Q

True/False. An enhanced flight vision system can be displayed on a PFD.

A

true.
