RBIS will only schedule buildings that
Have a BIN number
If have bin number address issue forward to BISP unit via email or phone
RBIS is not a static system but rather a dynamic one .This being said as a officer when shall you log on and check RBIS
At the start of every 9x6 tour regardless of when unit has BISP duty or not
RBIS will schedule inspections on bi and non-BI DAYS
Priority of inspection type
- Complaint
- Forthwith VO
- Vacate surveillance
- Fire protection system OOS
- Order to,discontinue work
- Re-inspect of standard VO
- Incomplete inspection
- Cda
If a officer enters information under the wrong bin number what shall he do
Notify BISP unit immediately via phone call
If an officer picks a building and mistakenly puts the wrong information from another building I
what should he do ?
If saved already cannot delete
Record info under proper building
Reopen the building with incorrect info and mark incomplete
Also record in notes so next officer release that this building info must be updated
All incompletes will be on next days inspections
What buildings are not required to be inspected by operational units
- Buildings with limited access ( no common area to inspect )
- Garages
- Pds
- Buildings generated by RBIS that cannot be found
Building with limited access is ( no common area to inspect )
3 family MDS WITH NO COMMON AREA
TYPICALLY 3 stories in height with no basement
Separate exterior entranced gives direct access for each individual apt
Separate heating units for each apt
No common area in building
Places in the exempt inspection classification by admin unit
Status changes will be requested after initial inspection by officer s approved by admin batt
Status changes in RBIS are automatically approved for how many days
14 days
Garages in RBIS
Placed in exempt status
Requested after initial inspection
Pds in RBIS
If inspection reveals PD than unit can do exterior inspection and remove from RBIS
Update when return to quarters and do status change
Status change instant no approval needed from batt
Public school inspections
All public schools K-12 will be inspected every c
School year by bureau of fire prevention
Complete list of schools under special inspection tracking List
If BOF does not complete inspection by February 1 we may inspect school
Inspection must be completed by end of school year
Utilize special inspection tracking list when entering inspection
Company commander ensure that fire prevention coordinator manually schedules all schools requiring inspection after February 1
Public school familiarization drill
Conduct initial drill
Then every two years from most recent drill or inspection
If company performs inspection at school for fire prevention then two year clock starts from there
Utilize special inspection tracking List for drill
Familiarization drills not on BISP
Should be scheduled during mud or company drills
If no access drill counts (note exterior drill conducted)
Private/charter schools And college/universities
Every school year by admin company
Exception if private charter schools in larger public school
Commercial day cares inspections
Operational units inspect when prompted by BFU
TYPICALLY EVERY YEAR
New York State day care inspections
Operational units do one time inspection only
