What is a country?
An area of land in which the people are rules by the same government.
What is a continent?
A huge landmass partially or fully surrounded by water.
What is magma?
Molten Rock still within the Earth’s mantle.
What is lava?
Molten rock that has erupted/leaked onto/through the crust.
What is the ring of fire?
The ring of fire is the name given to all plate boundaries surrounding the Pacific Ocean due to their high level of volcanic activity.
What is severity and magnitude?
The strength of a force in relation to natural hazards is often referred to as magnitude or severity.

Primary Effects
Immediate effects of a natural hazard.
Secondary Effect
The side-effects of immediate effects.
Preparedness
How well a community is organised in relation to natural hazards.

Shows direction correctly but distorts distance, shape and area.

It shows all land areas true to their size in relation to each other.
