Constitutional Monarchy
A system of government where the head f state is a monarch but is only there for ceremonial or traditional reasons. They have limited or no power and the nation is governed by the people.
Republic
A system of government where there is no monarch as the head of state. Leadership is not gained by succession and head of state is elected.
Dictatorship
A system of governments where a leader forces their way into power and stays in power by force or with the assistance of secret police. The public has only one duty - to obey the Dictator governs all the laws and decides all the rules.
Communist State
A system of government where there is not one political party and the government owns all private poverty and businesses.

Absolute Monarchy
A state of government where there is one monarch as a he’d of state who has absolute power over a whole country. Leadership is gained by succession/heritage.

Democracy
A state of government where the nation is governed by the people. Elections happen periodically. Republic and Constitutional Monarchies can be democracies.
Examples of democracies.
Australia and the USA
Constitution
A document which outlines how a country will be governed.
Coalition
When two or more parties decide to work together and vote together.
Example of a Coalition
ALP-Greens Party
Opposition
The party that gains the 2nd highest number of votes.
Example of a opposition.
The Liberal Party
Referendum.
A special one-off vote on a single national issue.

Federal System
A system where individual states have power of their own but are collector under one government that had ultimate power.
