the human body has over 630 muscle, responsible for 40% of the body’s weight. there are 30 facial muscles.
Skeletal or voluntary muscle tissue
contract with conscious thought
smooth or involuntary muscle tissue

Cardiac muscle tissue
specific to heart function and are not under conscious control
origin
fixed part of the muscle closest to the skeleton, flexes but remains stationary

middle part of the muscle

moveable attachment and farthest from the skeleton.

there are four muscles of the scalp:
frontalis, occipitalis, and two temporalis on the sides
frontalis
raises eyebrows, draws the scalp forward, and causes wrinkles on the forehead
epicranius aka occipitofrontalis
covers the top of the head. has 2 parts, occipitalis and frontalis.
occipitalis
the back of the epicranius that draws the scalp backward

corrugator, orbicularis oculi, and levator palpebrae superioris muscles.
