What is uncertainty usually caused by
Random and systematic errors
What are systematic errors
Systematic errors are errors which remain constant throughout the experiment. Usually causws by equipment. They affect accuracy. To prevent, check apparatus and calibrate properly.
what are Random errors?
Random errors vary. They can be caused by a range of things, they are hard to avoid as it’s difficult to keep control variables completely unchanged. Using more sensitive equipment can reduce random error as well as repeating measurements.
To combine uncertainties of adding and subtracting data?
Add the absolute uncertainties
Combining uncertainties when multiplying orndividing data?
Add the percentage uncertainties
Uncertainties when Raising to a power?
Multiply the percentage uncertainty by the power
Scalar?
A quantity with magnitude and no direction
Vector?
A quantity with direction and magnitude
