What is food insecurity?
A
The difficulty to obtain sufficient food. This can be hunger to famine

What is a resource?
A
A naturally obtained substance that can be used on its own or changed to make something else

What is Malthus’s view on availability of resources?
A
The population would grow exponentially but food production would grow arithmetically so population would outgrow food supply. Natural checks (natural disasters or diseases) would cut the population to allow the food supply to be on top again

What was Böserup’s theory on resources?
A
As the population rises and food is scarce people would invent new technologies and techniques to get food. She said “necessity is the mother of invention”
